Subject: Virtual Unity Ride - FINAL District Totals

Good morning,

First, let me start off by saying CONGRATULATIONS to each and every one of you for making our very first Virtual Unity Ride a HUGE success! The coronavirus pandemic forced us into canceling an annual event that we normally look forward to. However, in true Florida Legion Rider fashion, you took on the challenge and still provided the necessary support to our veterans!

Not only were we able to collectively raise over $60,000 for PROJECT VetRelief's Suicide Prevention Initiative, but we had more participants over the entire state riding for one cause... ending veteran suicide! In fact, all but 2 Districts had Riders represented.

Now, for what you all have been waiting for... The 15th District is this year's winner of the coveted District Trophy!! The trophy will be awarded during the Fall Conference in November, so we hope to see a large representation from the District. A SPECIAL shout out goes to Chapter 152 in District 15 for bringing in over $10,000!! What an outstanding accomplishment that you achieved, especially during uncertain times!

Below is the final leader board with the breakdown of results.

COOL PRIZES

We will be sending out emails to everyone who earned incentives from their fundraising efforts. Since there will not be a Department Convention this year, we are hoping that the Legion Riders District Chairmen will be able to help us distribute everyone's items. This will help us save on shipping costs. Items will come pre-packaged, so you won't have to assemble them or figure out who gets what items. More information will be sent later.

SURVEY

Additionally, we are putting together a Survey to send out to everyone who participated to get feedback on our first virtual event. We are looking to incorporate something similar in future rides so that more people can participate. Please encourage everyone to fill it out so that we can make next year's event even better!

Again, THANK YOU for all that you continue to do for the American Legion and the veteran community. You guys truly are making a HUGE impact and we are grateful for your support and dedication!

Fundraising Director

A message from the ALA President:

April 8, 2020

Greetings, from your Unit #152 Auxiliary President,  Lisa Anseeuw.

As we move thru these trying days and weeks of the COVID-19 world crisis, I and our Unit #152 Officers wish everyone safety and health during this time.

Per directives from our Department of Florida Auxiliary, there will be no e-committee meetings, regular business meetings, events, nominations, voting or elections with our unit 'till further notice. Even Girls State has been canceled.

I have set up a conference call information line of communication with our Unit officers for updates only at this time. So we are in touch.

As the situation changes we will be advised.

Stay healthy and looking forward to continuing our message in the near future.

Yours in Service,

LISA ANSEEUW,

President Unit #152

A Message From The Commander

April 4, 2020

Hello fellow Legion, Auxiliary, SAL & Rider members.

There has not been an update from me since January and a lot has been going on since then.

With the COVID-19 Virus causing illness & deaths around the World, we had to close the Post until at least 3 May 2020.Our Post elections was scheduled for 2 My 2020 but that has been postponed. I am working with District and Department to get a new date but we have no answer as of this date. I am also trying to clarify weather we can take Email or Text nominations as we also will miss our General Meeting in April.

We are utilizing this down time to complete our Post Smoke Out refurbishing project. I believe we will be done before the 3 May reopening date. We will be able to enjoy a newly freshened smoke free environment and a much improved facility.

The Eboard has approved a “Membership Appreciation Day”  with free hot dogs and hamburgers but we have not been able to set a date.

Many members have been busy working at the Post helping to complete this refurbishing.  I want to thank Glen and Joann Lathers, Doug Fivehouse, Bob Lehmiller, Lon Hathaway, Christina, Jeri Hoover, Mike Sherman and Mike Thorpe.

I miss spending time and money at the Post but most of all I miss seeing all of my fellow comrades.

Please make sure you check the www.post152.com site and the Post Facebook page for updates on the open date and our big party for the member appreciation.

Hope to see you all soon.

Stay safe and well.

Yours in Service,

Armond Laframboise
