There is an unauthorized “My Legion App” currently available from the Android and Apple stores. The app was created by an organization identified as “Giant Killer”. Please do not engage with this seller as they do not have permission to use our likeness.
Please do warn Legionnaires and Posts the application is a scam and is charging a monthly fee. National has no plans to produce a fee-for-service app. We are actively working on a mobile application focused on helping local Posts and individual members.
When our official app is ready, it will be announced through official Legion channels and will be identified with The American Legion as the “seller” once published to the stores.
Below is a screenshot of the unauthorized application as it is presented within the stores.
Come join us for New Years Eve! Some finger foods will be provided, but if you can, please bring a side dish to share!
Happy Holidays – the mad rush has begun. We all need to take a moment to thank our Military Personal for their service. They are giving up their time that should be spent with their families (holiday parties, their kids Christmas performances, all the GREAT food) for OUR benefit.
The bake sale was a HUGE SUCCESS. There were so many donations of bake goods. Thank you all that brought in bake goods as well as purchased. It takes both for this to work. Special thank-you to JoAnn, Diane, Vicky, Bonnie and Donna that spent a good portion of Friday night putting the items together to sell.
Auxiliary is holding Friday Night Bites (December 16th) at 6:00. Sloppy Joe sandwich and potato salad for a donation of $ 8.00. All proceeds are going to sponsor our girl staters. The Legion is putting together Christmas baskets this night also. You can have a sandwich and also stay to help put these baskets together. They are putting together over a 100 to be delivered on Sat to needy families in our area.
The Children’s Christmas Party is Saturday December 17th from 1:00 – 3:00 at the Legion. Santa will be there and have a gift for all the kids. Please make sure your child is signed up. We wouldn’t want Santa to take the gift to the wrong place. Your Auxiliary is also buying Christmas presents for 5 kids (a Veteran’s family). Ages 4 to 17. Special thanks to Auxiliary Junior member Amara for shopping for the 15 and 17 year old girls. Special note: we received from National the American Legion Child Welfare Foundation 2021-2022 Award – Children First Gift Club Caretaker.
Our Auxiliary Christmas party is Thursday, December 22nd at 7:15. We will be having refreshments. Plan to join in some fun - we are asking everyone to bring a wrapped Christmas ornament for the white elephant exchange. We are making Christmas stockings for the 90 Veterans at Baldomero Lopez Veterans Nursing Home. We are collecting donations of NEW men socks and fingerless gloves to put in these stockings. Thanks goes to Bonnie & Bob for their wonderful donation of body wash and shampoo for each Veteran to receive. We will be taking these items to the Nursing Home on Friday, December 23rd so they will each receive an individual Christmas gift.
Please remember to continue to put your quarters in the cans in the lounge for Operation Dignity Quarters for Laundry. Still collecting school supplies – bin is in the back. December’s donations are notebook paper and crayons.
We need to continue to remember our Military personnel. When you are making out your Christmas Card – how about adding another to your list. Veteran c/o Baldomero Lopez State Veterans 6919 Parkway Blvd Land O Lakes FL 34639 wishing them a Merry Christmas and thanking them for their service.
Wishing EVERYONE a Merry Christmas and a safe and prospers Happy New Year
Sincerely, Kathy Driggers President Unit 152 TNC Memorial
Fall is here and so are the Holidays. Your Auxiliary has a lot going on the next couple of months. Hopefully more members will jump in and be involved. Our meetings are the 4th Thursday of the month at 7:15.
Our Education Chairman, Sheryl K visited 3 schools in Sept with school supplies. These schools were so thankful and appreciated everything. She decided to keep it going all year. Donation box at Legion. For each meeting she has picked an item for us to bring. Even though we have no meeting in Nov she is requesting hand sanitizer be dropped off. Dec meeting items will be crayons, pens and paper.
Our Oct. steak shoot was Barnyard Bingo. Everyone had such a great time and it can get kind of wild with the different animal sounds going around. Thank-you so MUCH Patty and Erin for doing this – takes a lot of work to put it together.
C&Y did a Halloween party for the Boy’s & Girls club off TNC. – 170 kids. These kids were in awe of the OVERSTUFFEDgoody bags. Thanks to the donations, help putting goody bags together (that was a LONG night) and of course everyone that helped that day. Thanks to everyone for ALL DONATIONS and help to make this a special day for these kids.
Wed crafters have been really busy. There will be at Yard Sale Odessa Post 147 on Nov. 19th 8:00-2:00 selling Holiday items they have been making. All proceeds (also some of their OWN monies) go right back into buying supplies for making blankets for Faces of Courage and mats for homeless Veterans among other things.
Our VA&R chairman, Phyllis R is continuing to do Friday night bites. Next one is Nov 18th and proceeds from this will go the Veteran’s Depot for Thanksgiving meals for Veterans. Please come out and support this worthy case.
Have you noticed the cans on the bar in the Post Lounge?. This is for Operation Dignity Quarters for Laundry. Have you been to laundromat lately? These quarters are going to Veterans to help out.
We have no meeting in Nov. – wishing everyone a BLESSED Thanksgiving.
Auxiliary is sponsoring 5 Veterans kids for Christmas. We have a bake sale Sat Dec.10th – 11:00 am – until. We do need baked items as well as buyers for this event. This is one of our money makers. Kid’s Christmas party at the Legion will be Sat Dec. 17th – there will be a signup sheet in Lounge – we want to make sure all kids there get something from Santa. Auxiliary Christmas Party will be Thurs. Dec. 22nd. Instead of exchanging gifts we are bringing gift cards (Walmart, Target, CVS, etc) to give to the Veterans at Baldomero Lopez State Veterans home. We will be enjoying finger foods, drinks and fellowship during our meeting.
I would like to give a HUGE shout out to our membership chairman Vicky Irby. Thanks to her HARD work our membership is already at 49%. Also want to thank JoAnn Lathers – being treasure and secretary. She has to weekly take care of Auxiliary business and making sure our obligations are met and paid timely.
I am thinking being President is the EASY position. We couldn’t have this amazing Auxiliary without all of you.
Thanks to All, Sincerely, Kathy Driggers President Unit 152 TNC Memorial
Post 152 Family,
After speaking with the SAL Squadron Commander, we have made the decision to cancel tonight's SAL Wing Night and Wednesday's SAL dinner and bingo due to the impending hurricane.
We are watching this storm very closely and will update with any potential closures as it draws closer. As always, the safety of our members is our highest priority. Everyone, please heed the warnings issued by the local government and do everything you can to keep you and your families safe.
Yours in service,
Michael Sherman

This presidents Corner is to let you all know what YOUR Auxiliary is doing for the next month or so.
This YOUR AUXILIARY! I challenge each of you to ask yourself why you joined the American Legion Auxiliary. If anyone has stories that they would like to share we welcome your feedback. We all took an oath and are sworn to 100% Americanism be PROUD, be Present get SATISFACTION in serving the men and women that PROUDLY serve or have served this great country that we call home. Legion family,
COVID is rearing its ugly head again. If you have been exposed to someone who has tested positive, please get tested before coming to the post, or you are not feeling well, please stay home until you are better.
The health and safety of our members and staff are of the utmost importance, so please keep that in mind and help prevent the spread. If you test positive and have recently been to the post, please let us know as soon as possible so we can let those who may have been exposed know to help keep it from spreading.
We don't want to have to close our doors or modify our hours, but if the virus spreads through the membership or to our bartenders, we will not have a choice.
Also, due to the ever increasing cost of the products we serve, we have made the difficult decision to increase the cost of all alcohol products we serve by 50 cents effective September 1st.
Thank you all for your understanding.
Yours in service,
Michael Sherman
