2014 Awards Presentation

 

During the Officer installation ceremony on June 28th 2014 the following people were recognized for their outstanding  performance and support for Post 152:

 


15th District Commander, Jose Romeu, presented Joe Lavoie an Eagle in appreciation of his "Outstanding Service" as Commander of American Legion Post 152 from 2013 - 2014.

Commander Joe Lavoie presented Cliff Zimmerer the Lifetime Achievement Award "In recognition of his outstanding service and contribution to the American Legion".
   

Commander Lavoie presented Troy Pazos the Unsung Hero Award "In recognition of all the unselfish behind the scenes work he does in support of the American Legion"

Commander Lavoie presented Tony Dillon and Marie Taylor (not pictured) the Shinning Star Award "In recognition of all the unselfish behind the scenes work they do in support of the American Legion".
   

President Erin Vaughn presented the "Outstanding Achievement Award" to Debbie Kilcoyne for her  "Decicated service and efforts where they counted most".

During the Post Officer installation ceremony on June 22nd 2013 the following people were recognized for their outstanding  performance and support for Post 152:

 


Post Commander Troy Pazos presented Central Area Commander, Jim Zipler a Sculpted Wooden Cross in appreciation for the support he gave to Post 152 (his home post) this year.

Central Area Commander Jim Zipler presented Troy Pazos an Eagle in appreciation of his "Outstanding Service" as Commander of American Legion Post 152 from 2010 - 2013.
   

Commander Pazos presented Bob Lair the Lifetime Achievement Award "In recognition of his outstanding service and Contribution to the American Legion".

Commander Pazos presented Theresa Zipler the Unsung Hero Award "In recognition of all the unselfish behind the scenes work she does in support of the American Legion"
   

Commander Pazos presented the Star of Commendation to Michael (Cowboy) Vaughn and Erin Pritchard “In Recognition of Outstanding Cooperation & In Appreciation for Active Participation in ALL Special Projects 2011-2013”.
Michael (Cowboy) Vaughn, SAL Commander, presented Scott Hudson, Sons of The American Legion Lifetime Commanders Achievement Award In Recognition Of His Outstanding Service and Contribution to The Sons of The American Legion Commander Squadron 152 2008 - 2013.

 

 

2012 Awards Presentation

During the Post Officer installation ceremony on July 14th 2012, Post Commander Troy Pazos gave the Central Area Commander Jim Zipler (pictured above left) an Eagle plaque in appreciation for the support he gave to Post 152 (his home post) this year. Pictured above right is Commander Pazos presenting Jim Dawson the Unsung Hero Award "In Recognition Of All Of The Unselfish Behind the Scenes Work he Does In Support of The American Legion". Pictured below left is Commander Troy presenting the three Finance Officers, Buzz Bullock, Theresa Zipler, and Bob Lair a gift in appreciation of the exemplary performance of their duties in probably the most critical job at the Post. Pictured below right is Commander Pazos presenting "Cowboy Vaughn and Erin Prichard the Unsung Hero Award "In Recognition Of All Of The Unselfish Behind the Scenes Work They do In Support of The American Legion" this year. Commander Pazos also presented Cliff Zimmerer (not pictured) the Lifetime Achievement Award "In recognition of his outstanding service and Contribution to the American Legion"

 

Post 152 Received 2 Awards For Involvement in Project Gratitude

On the 25th of April, 2012, Post 152 was given 2 awards for our support to Project Gratitude. The first award was a “Certificate of Special Congressional Recognition” presented by Clint Shouppe for Congressman Gus Bilirakis . The second award was a “Special Contribution Award" from the City of Temple Terrace” presented by Mayor Joe Affronti. Charmaine and Cliff Zimmerer accepted the awards on behalf of Post 152. Project Gratitude rewards Chaplains from all branches of service and their families with 3 days of R&R in the Tampa Bay area upon their return from Iraq or Afghanistan. They receive tickets to, among other places, Bush Gardens, MOSI as well as restaurants such as Lupton's, and Applebee's.

 

2011 Unsung Hero and Lifetime Achievement Awards:

During the Post Officer installation ceremony on July 9th 2011, Post Commander Troy Pazos awarded Patrick Maguire the Lifetime Achievement Award "In recognition of his outstanding service and Contribution to the American Legion".

 

To Bill Taylor, he awarded the Unsung Hero Award "In Recognition Of All Of The Unselfish Behind the Scenes Work he Does In Support of The American Legion".

 

Letters of Appreciation

During the Post 152 General Membership meeting on April 16th 2009, the 15th District Commander, Kathryn Ferrin, presented Letters of Appreciation to Linda O'Harold and Margaret Holtz for there involvement in a lunch at the Lopez VA home near Land O Lakes.

During the Post 152 General Membership meeting on March 19 2009, the 15th District Commander, Kathryn Ferrin, presented Letters of Appreciation to Gypsy Faulkner, Ed Cole, Larry Faulkner, Cliff Zimmerer, and Charmaine Zimmerer for there involvement in a lunch at the Lopez VA home near Land O Lakes. Commander Ferrin also presented Letters of Appreciation to Charmaine Zimmerer, Bill Scott, Patrick Maguire and Cliff Zimmerer for there involvement in a "Welcome Home Troops" event at the USF Sundome.

 

The American Legion Gold Brigade Membership Award

During the General Membership meeting on February, 1ST Vice Commander, Robert (Link) Lindquist, had the pleasure of presenting Patrick Maguire with The American Legion Gold Brigade Membership Award. This award is from the National Commander "In recognition and appreciation of outstanding achievement in recruiting fifty or more new members of The American Legion." 2008 Unsung Hero and Lifetime Achievement Awards:

In a very special presentation preceding the "In and Out" Party on August 9th 2008, Bill Taylor (American Legion Post 152 Commander) presented the Unsung Hero Award to co-recipients Bob Lair and Larry Faulkner, and the Lifetime Achievement Award to George Pinner.

The President’s Volunteer Service Award:

On April 17th, 2008 at the Legion Membership meeting, Charmaine Zimmerer had the pleasure of presenting “The President’s Volunteer Service Award” to Bill Taylor, Legion Commander, Jeanne Kerens, representing the American Legion Auxiliary & John Francis, representing the Sons of the American Legion. This award is presented by the President's Council on Service and Civic Participation in recognition and appreciation of commitments to strengthening our Nation and for making a difference through Volunteer service.

Post 152 was put in for the “The President’s Volunteer Service Award” by Chaplain David LeFavor. Charmaine presented this award in his absence.

Post volunteers have worked with Chaplain LeFavor for about five years now on all kinds of different projects for our Veterans and active duty military.

The award is in the hall. Please take the time to look at it when you are in the post again. It takes all of us to make a family.

 

Paul Porterfield Award:

On June 10, 2006, Rhonda Porterfield presented the "Paul Porterfield Award" to Charmaine Zimmerer (Post 152 Service Officer). This award is presented to the Service Officer of the year within the 15th district in recognition of their outstanding service to Veterans.
